The challenge
After our original rebrand and employer brand build in 2023, ValueLights had all the right tools to grow into a truly ecommerce lighting brand – bold visuals, a confident tone, and a team that was fired up. But as the year unfolded, internal shifts, fast growth, and mixed demands across departments revealed a need for further clarity and guidance to help supercharge and streamline their online presence.
Our job this time? Refocus the team, take the newbies through our original journey, reassert the brand, and help ValueLights shine with clarity and consistency across every channel – from web and social to team culture.
The approach
This wasn’t about starting again. It was about realignment – reconnecting teams with the vision, purpose, tone of voice, and helping the brand show up and ‘spark brilliance’ in all the right places. Alongside the marketing team, we got stuck in:
- A brand and business growth session – how to evolve and simplify our brand for digital, taking the original rebrand into consideration.
- Carried out a topline UX/UI audit, providing feedback to support the in-flight rebuild.
- Hosted a brand workshop at MuddyWellies HQ to revisit the ValueLights story, tone of voice and how the brand should behave.
- Audited the current site, social, email and marketplaces to highlight missed opportunities and make practical design and copy recommendations.
- Worked with other digital agency partners to help shape the Amazon and online approach – sharing latest brand evolutions, identifying where to push harder and turn up the brand volume.
- Delivered a refreshed brand guideline pack, campaign ideas and a whole host of updated assets for teams and partners to use with confidence.
The result
A brand reset with energy. The team now has a clearer roadmap for digital consistency, a confident way to speak to customers, and a renewed sense of pride in what ValueLights stands for.
