The Challenge

Building a brand – guidelines, personality, tone of voice, look and feel – that would reflect the goals of one incredible woman, dedicated to helping others from all backgrounds achieve their highest quality of life. This woman just happened to be on the other side world in Santa Barbara, California.

Zubeda Eubanks wanted to take her extensive life experience in healthcare and hospital settings and combine this with her experience working with Eastern healing ideologies, to bring a unique perspective to her new Life Coaching and Reiki Healing brand.

We needed to help Zubeda reach those struggling with life’s challenges in our fast-paced world, with a website and social channels that echoed her experience, compassion and authenticity. This first point of contact would become the gateway to Zubeda’s safe space – where potential clients could gain an understanding of the sanctuary she has created for holistic healing and personal growth.

So, we woke up early and stayed up late to make sure we got to chat with Zubeda as often as we could, to help turn her journey into empowerment and guidance for others.

The Approach

At MuddyWellies, we understand that people buy people. In this case, with such a personal subject, we needed to show the woman behind the brand – encouraging genuine connection and engagement and build trusting relationships.

Zubeda is not only the main point of contact for all connections and potential clients, but her experience, personality and her unique ‘why’ had to become her competitive advantage. So, through our survey and online meetings, we gathered as much information as possible from her journey so far and the world she wants to practice in. We listened to what she wanted her brand to look and feel like and used this to ensure the website felt as grounded, human and welcoming as possible.

Capturing her distinctive experience in the Western and Eastern worlds of healthcare and healing, we weaved her mission, purpose, and values into the copy. We blended the words with a warm colour palette, natural textures and personal imagery that would reflect her ability to uplift, energise and bring a sense of calm.

The name allowed us to dig into those three core elements, Sage Feather and Wellness, and their importance in the overall feeling of cleansing and rejuvenation. This exploration influenced the brand development, positioning, values and tone of voice, helping to further amplify the presence of the brand – and give it that stand-out.

The Result

We updated the existing name from ‘Sahej Feather’ to ‘Sage Feather’ so that we could harness the meaning behind the words and how they relate to Zubeda’s ethos and services. We crafted a full brand story for Sage Feather Wellness and translated this into Zubeda’s new brand identity. This included brand guidelines and tone of voice, as well as a defined brand key, purpose, promise, mission and values for her to live by.

This brand identity formed the foundations for a new website, printed collateral, and social channels. The new website showcases the beauty of the brand, and the beliefs of the founder, while working as an online brochure that provides potential clients with all the information they may need – plus the facilities to book and pay online. In terms of social strategy, the Sage Feather Instagram account aims to delve deeper into the purpose, promise, and values, alongside explanations of the services on offer and the option for potential clients to book directly. While Zubeda’s personal LinkedIn will act as a space to find inspiration and make meaningful connections with like-minded business owners.

The new website has given Zubeda a professional way to connect with clients, increasing her awareness in the local area, demonstrating her credibility and expertise, and placing her established brand alongside many of her Wayfinder Life Coach and Reiki Master peers.

We were extremely happy to hear of her gaining so many new female clients as a result of the brand build too. As a female-run business, supporting another female-run business, we were honoured to play a part in Zubeda’s mission to guide women who may be struggling or seeking balance.
